Description

The main aim of this module is to enhance the pedagogical competence of the teachers of English in teaching writing, therefore it has four objectives to cover. First, it discusses the nature of writing as productive skill. Second, it explains what to teach in writing which includes ideas, organization, and language. The third and fourth aims are to explain how to teach writing using process and genre approach and how to use them in classroom.

It is an activity- based module which includes games, brainstorming, group discussion, and individual writing tasks. The use of the activity- based module is to raise participants’ awareness of the learning process rather than the product of learning, learning passively. It also aims to activate participants’ prior knowledge with the new information introduced in the module.

The content of this module refers to the learning material provided through lectures, workshops, trainings, and publications. Any other relevant learning resources are also included to emphasize and reinforce the learning information. It is expected that maximum use of this module will meet the intended main aim.
